Who am I?

Hi! Good morning! Or afternoon, night, whatever time of day it is for you :)

Headphones, sneakers and a light jacket. My uniform 🫡

My name is Hope and I love corgis and apple cider. I also really love navigating public transportation and learning new languages in my spare time. Although learning is a stretch: I can usually hold moderate conversation and order food. The ✨essentials✨

I’m from Los Angeles, California -born and raised- and my greatest skill is I don’t get road rage from LA traffic. But currently college and (hopefully!) spontaneous travel has me all over the globe. Whenever I travel, I love exploring local cafes and subsequently updating my Beli app with my thoughts and opinions: which I have never have a lack of :)

What is this?

I love to talk. Kind of. When I was younger, you’d have to physically restrain me to get me to keep quiet. Luckily, I’ve grown out of the incessant need to hear my own voice at all times. Turned it more inwards to writing and listening to others. That’s what I love to do now - and if I spin it right, what I’m studying in college.

Writing is my favorite way to process things. Whether it was teenage angsty emotions in monologue x poetry form or it’s recipes I’m modifying from pastry school or daily journal entries from my travels or six different to-do lists of every task I’ve been procrastinating, I’ve always had an app (Day One <3) opened on my devices and a notebook in my bag ready for me to word vomit into. Lovely imagery there, sorry.

It’s long-winded a lot of the time, exhibit a above…but I like to think it’s an interesting amalgamation of my thoughts sometimes so this here Substack is my place to make my thoughts aesthetic~ to share. Because I think and write some pretty cool stuff if I do say so myself.

Why should you care?

Nah, you don’t have to.

But you could :D treat it like a very long FaceTime call where your friend has ADHD and is updating you on their life. It’s me. I’m your friend. Read my deep, dark, inter-most thoughts and then DM me with your feedback. Just beware I take a couple business days to respond to initial texts because I get a little anxious reading notifications.

Ok, that’s all. Going to go avoid some classwork and write while having some mint tea, would recommend that to you if you’re in need of a procrastination activity. It’s a good one: heating up water, steeping tea, waiting for the tea to reach the perfect temperature for optimal comfort without burning your mouth…takes about like 10-20 minutes, and then you’ll actually feel motivated to work once you’re armed with a nice drink in your hands.
